Apple store in the historic building of Hirsch & Cie in Amsterdam. Apple settled into the Hirsh building in 2011 and had a strong desire to restore the building into its original state: the historic ceilings and the atrium were restored and a 12 meter high pillar was removed to accommodate the now famous glass staircase characteristic of Apple. AGS architects carefully integrated the wishes of the commissioning company with the vision of the Heritage Conservation Committee and the Aesthetics Committee.
